Ben's Favorite Glass Bead

The other day my middle son and I were viewing new beads that his Daddy had just finished and cleaned. They didn't have a silver core inside them yet, but we find that it's always fun to see what the newest beads look like. Benjamin surprised me with his new favorite. I was expecting him to like a bright red and white bead that I was holding in my hand. Unexpectedly, he choose a new style, a pink bead!

This gorgeous bead has a light petal pink background with swirls of a darker pink on top. (Photo above. It is made for Trollbeads bracelets.) It is very pretty, but it was just not what I thought a young boy would pick!

Anyway, we are sending everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! We are truly thankful for everything we have been given.

Quality is of utmost importance to Doug. With our glass charms, you will find kiln annealed glass, and beautifully handcrafted sterling silver cores. With many of the mass produced beads, we have found that the cores are looser and will easily turn. This is definitely not the mark of a handcrafted piece.

Also if you like a variety of colors, we use Murano glass, a beautiful Italian glass, as well as American glasses and German glass which has some of the most amazing colors. To the right is a photo for “Fireside” a lampwork bead that has been made with German glass and has been made to fit Trollbeads bracelets. (You can view more photos of this bead if you click on the photo.) Doug also make extra effort to keep his glass beads in a similar size range to the name brands (such as Trollbeads) so his beads will blend in with your other glass charms.

“Fireside” is my glass bead pick of the week. It's a gorgeous bead to see in person. Many thanks to all of the wonderful compliments about our new website. Even though we've sold on the internet for over 10 years, it's great to have our own place that we can call “home.”

A Fun Place to Visit!

One of my favorite forums to visit is the Trollbeads Society! This is quite an active forum for Trollbeads lovers. Many photos of personal bead bracelets abound and it's quite fun to read what everyone thinks about the latest Trollbeads.
